May 26, 2008 - Bukit Gambir

5.40pm I start cycle out from Greenlane Park to Bkt Gambir to meet up Kheong.
Took me 15 minutes to cycle 3km from Greenlane Park to destination.
Once met up Kheong, we start our cycle session towards the hill, in the middle of the session I reached the junction and showed Kheong the route that I and Keat were chased by the dogs. Arrived the top, took a rest and ready to downhill, half way meet up my ex-manager Chong, then I and Kheong decided to cycle up again with Chong. Reach the top again, rest and simply "blow water" then we start downhill again.

Finally I am able reach the ground safely and counter my phobia due to previous accident. And happy with my FD setting, now able to ride smoothly on the flag road.

Here are some pictures taken by my phone camera... its a sunset photo.. :)

May 24, 2008 - Bukit Gambir

I and Keat decided to cycle at Bukit Gambir 4.30pm, its not that hot...
In the middle of the cycle we met a Y junction, left its a steep route, right its a flat route which never been before, and decided to go for the flat route.... end up chased by 8 to 9 dogs.... luckily that we are save coming out by my self defense technique and the help of the dogs owner.... and downhill back....

Sorry for the blur photo, due to my camera in my camelbak with ice cool water and caused the lens foggy when meet the outside temperature...

Keat posing X which will never ever go to that route anymore....

Keat posing OK sign which will come back again next time.

May 19, 2008 - Gertak Sanggul

Kian Lee writing..

From Gertak Sanggul to Pulau Betung, its not much uphill, just a rolling trail, the tough part is when back from Pulau Betung to Gertak Sanggul, there are a section of uphill stretch. In the middle of the trail, there is a section which is narrow and full of rocks which need to be careful on it else, will down into the valley.... :p
We stopped at a coffee shop at Pulau Betung for drinks and rest, as got 1 iron man cycle from Tg Bunga to destination without having breakfast from early morning, took him 1 hour 20 minutes to reach Gertak Sanggul bus stand!! Salute!!

Overall, the trail is narrow cement road and with some rocks, need a good balancing. But you will have a nice view as a rewards, when reach the hilltop. For this DH fans, there are few hairpin corners that you may love it!! Its around 13.5km for the entire cycle trip.

When on the way home, we stop by roadside for durian session. :D
